Bike sharing has been popular among big cities in the last few years and now La Jolla is getting in on the action as well!
“The City of San Diego has announced the location of 14 proposed bike-sharing stations in La Jolla (among 177 citywide), including three in La Jolla Shores, two in Bird Rock, one in WindanSea and eight in the Village.” (source: La Jolla Light)
Bike sharing is a low cost program that is ultimately designed to decrease traffic congestion and reduce parking while promoting a healthy community lifestyle.
The cost for bike sharing is approximately $7/hour or $15 per day.
Bird Rock will have two designated Bike Sharing locations
No. 86: 5720 La Jolla Blvd. (at Bird Rock Avenue), on sidewalk next to vacant lot.
No. 87: 5479 La Jolla Blvd. (at Midway Street), on sidewalk in front of CVS Pharmacy.
